Students
WRRI values students at all stages of their academic journey, from undergrad to young professional. The NC WRRI conference provides an excellent opportunity for students to present research and network with fellow students, researchers, practitioners, and community members doing important work in water resources.
Poster Competition
All undergraduate and graduate students are eligible to participate in the student poster presentation competition. Participants are automatically entered into the competition and will be judged by the attending audience, with the top three places receiving an award. Poster presentations take place during the evening reception on the first day of the conference.
Lightning Talk Competition
All undergraduate and graduate students are eligible to participate in the student lightning talk competition. A lightning talk is a brief (5 minute) and compelling presentation on a scientific topic. Successful lightning talks clearly and concisely tell the story of the project and include what was done, why, and what the outcome was.
Networking
Would you like interaction with and guidance from experienced professionals? Do you need insight into career choices and pathways? Attending the NC WRRI conference will put you in front of professionals from across the water resources field.
