WRRI supports research that addresses water resource issues that are a priority in NC. Funding comes from USGS 104(B) funds, the Urban Water Consortium (UWC), the UWC Stormwater Group, and occasionally other funds. Faculty of senior colleges and universities in NC are eligible to apply for research funding. Graduate and undergraduate student support is often provided through this funding, and researchers often partner with local municipalities and agencies when submitting research proposals.
WRRI seeks to communicate the results of the research projects it funds by publishing research reports and by inviting researchers and students to participate in WRRI’s annual research conference.
